Counselor (09/01 – present): Academic advising and support services to at-risk students. At risk students are defined as students admitted on a conditional basis to the University, first time freshmen, students on probation, first-generation college student, and students with an undecided major. This position plays an important role in student retention insomuch that they serve as a primary point of contact for students admitted to the University on a conditional admission. This position also designs and publishes a newsletter connecting families to the University. This position also assists in the development and delivery of various Student Success Workshops offered on campus.

Counselor (03/14 – 08/31): Academic advising and support services to at-risk students. At risk students are defined as students admitted on a conditional basis to the University, first time freshmen, students on probation, first-generation college student, and students with an undecided major. This position plays an important role in student retention insomuch that they serve as a point of contact for students currently on probation, students readmitting to the University either on probation or on a conditional basis. This position also works closely with all Colleges to collect, enter, design, and publish (print and web) the Schedule of Classes. This position also assists in the development and delivery of various Student Success Workshops offered on campus, advisement of students in the Undeclared Major program, support to students in the Disability Services Program and to those seeking assistance in the area of career services, and other duties as assigned.
Departmental Secretary/Graduate Admissions Official (08/12 – 03/14): Evaluation of academic credentials of graduate level applicants; ensure that University policy as related to admission standards are being enforced; represents the university and disseminates appropriate information about the university to prospective students and other interested parties; determining residency and routing appeals to the residency appeals committee; develop and implement a recruiting and admissions program designed to communicate with prospective students, communicate admissions decisions to students in a timely manner, and to maintain all admissions files in an appropriate manner; maintaining, and using the electronic student admissions and records system to identify and recruit students, to track and communicate with students during the application process, and to assist applicants in the admissions and registration process. I also served as the assistant to the Director of the Graduate Office, managed multi-line telephone system, scheduled appointments, and assisted unscheduled visits from students, staff, and faculty members.

Assistant Director of Student Services (07/10 – 08/12): Supervision of staff performing registrations, SOCAD agreements, financial aid administration, withdrawals, and test administration. Service as SOC degree map administrator, member of the Active Admission development and oversight team, and assisting with website management. Working with the Director/Registrar to interpret and enforce academic rules and regulations; processes changes in admissions and student records as required and appropriate; assists in academic advisement and other areas of student services as needed and appropriate; maintains ongoing contact and good public relations with students and staff. I performed routine term functions of the Registrar/Director of Student Services for Global Campus including: transcript verification, suspension notification, preparation of the academic calendar, graduation processing, academic appeals, readmissions to the University, grade adjustments, and overseeing military student registration. I also served as the designated withdrawal official for Global Campus, and frequently made administrative decisions on behalf of the Registrar/Director of Student Services for Global Campus.
Supervisor of Admissions (01/10 – 06/10): Supervision of admission specialists and coordinators; evaluation of academic credentials of first-year and transfer applicants; implementation of university policy as it relates to admissibility of students and disciplinary actions required for staff. I conducted ongoing training sessions for staff members; analyzed the training needs in order to develop new training programs or to modify and improve existing programs; maintenance of personnel records; supervision of approximately eight staff members. I worked to maintain the integrity of the student database (admissions to permanent records) in order to ensure complete accuracy for local records, as well as state, and federal reporting.
