Arithmetic from the Status Bar
Sometimes you just want to get a little arithmetic done without resorting to the complex functions or formulas. Excel provides a very easy way to do that that is right before your eyes if you know where to look - the Status Bar.
Start with a collection of numbers in a column....
All you have to do is select the collection of cells containing numbers.
The Status Bar will display their sum!
But what if you don't need the sum? Suppose you wish a different arithmetic process on the selected numbers...
Easy!
Right-Click on the letters in the word SUM.
Select from among the arithmetic processes that are displayed.
What could be easier to get a quick calculation and basically leave no footprints of your work.
