TROY MathFest 2010

                                        Celebrating Undergraduate Mathematics

Date: February 6, 2010

Time: 7:00 am-5:00pm

The TROY MathFest 2010 is a one-day primarily undergraduate mathematics conference to be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Troy University, Montgomery Campus (click for maps)  in historic Montgomery, Alabama.  The purpose of the conference is to have a common mathematics forum for all undergraduate mathematics students at four-year institutions in the Alabama and beyond.  Faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students are all encouraged to give presentations.  Presentations in all areas of mathematics, mathematics education, mathematics history, and mathematics applications are welcome.   We have travel support available for undergraduate presenters.

The conference will consist of 20-minute contributed talks, a one-hour special lecture on by Professor Peter D. Johnson, Jr. of Auburn University—who has for years worked with undergraduates in research—a graduate school information booth, a calculus competition for undergraduates (with cash prizes awarded to first, second, and third place), with refreshments provided to all participants.
