Ecology Lab Final
Your lab final will be worth 30 points. It will consist
of three sections:
1) Species identifications
2) Short answer questions
3) Group project
Each section will be worth a possible of 10 points.
Section One: Species identifications: You will be responsible for
identification by common or scientific names( if they were required) the common
tree species of the TSU Arboretum, the species discussed on the adaptations
to a xeric environment lab, the macro invertebrates from the biological testing
of the hydric environment, and the species discussed in the decomposition
lab.
Section Two: You will have a series of short (mostly one word or
term) questions that relate to the topics covered in the labs.
Section Three: You will be placed in a group and given a project
with a question to answer. Any of the equipment used in the lab will be available
for your use. The project will be related to one or more of the labs conducted
this semester in some way. Each person in the group is to participate in the
project, both the determination of the answer and the write up. If a person
does not contribute they will be placed in a group by themselves and given
their own project.
The lab final will take place the final lab period of the semester. The
location will be provided to you. It could be any of the places we visited
this semester or an entirely new site.
