COMPUTERWORKS GUIDELINES AND USAGE POLICY

ComputerWorks is designed for use in completing assignments for Troy University Classes only, not for Social, Church, or Personal work. Students must scan a valid TROY ID card upon entering ComputerWorks.

1. Food and drinks are not allowed in the ComputerWorks lab.

2. Please be respectful, considerate, and courteous to fellow lab users.

3. Viewing web sites that promote pornography, hate messages, or any other inappropriate material is prohibited. Users seen viewing such sites may be asked to leave ComputerWorks, and could possibly have restrictions placed on their future use of the Computers.

4. Research Articles should not be printed in ComputerWorks. Please go to the TROY Library to print all research articles.

5. Changing settings and installing programs on the computers is strictly prohibited.

6. Paper waste should be avoided at all cost. Print only the material needed for class assignments. If a portion of a long document is needed, highlight the needed portion, go to the "File" menu, open the "Print..." dialogue box, and then check "Selection" before pressing OK to print the highlighted material. Do not print the entire document. The printing of emails, web pages, advertisements,  social, church, organizations, and  personal material is prohibited.

8. There is a two-copy limit for printing documents. If multiple copies are needed, please take the document to Quick Copy in Wallace Hall or xerox copies in the TROY Library.

9. The ComputerWorks staff is available to assist you with equipment and software problems to the best of their ability. However, lab assistants and tutors are not available to explain or complete homework assignments for students. See the faculty member teaching the course for assignment explanations.

10. Children accompanying adults to the lab must be supervised at all times. If the child becomes disruptive to others, the adult must remove the child from ComputerWorks.

11. Clean up after yourself. Do not leave trash around the computers or on the floor of the lab.

12. ComputerWorks will close at the posted times. Closing times for the lab are posted on the ComputerWorks homepage and on the front door of the lab.

Any questions concerning ComputerWorks procedures should be directed to the Assistant on duty or Ms. Summerville, Coordinator.
