FINAL EXAMINATION: Monday,
December 9th, 2002 at 2p - 4p
ATTENDANCE POLICY
The student is to attend all scheduled classes. A student is expected to come to class on time and not leave early. Leaving class early or arriving to class late for any reason other than illness or other reasons beyond the students control will be counted as two (2) tardies unless prior arrangements are made with the instructor or the instructor agrees and accepts the students reason or excuse. The accumulation of four(4) tardies counts as one absence. Should a student come into the class late, it is his/her responsibility to check to see whether the instructor may change the absence to a tardy. A student will be allowed one excused absence without penalty. The instructor must be advised of the reason for the absence and proof may be required so as to determine whether to be considered excused. PENALTY for absence will begin with the second absence. A total of three unexcused absences may result in a drop of one letter grade in the final grade. NOTE: Official school functions as absences.
EXAMINATIONS
ALL EXAMS WILL BE ANNOUNCED and/or posted on the web site. The student is expected to take all exams at the announced time. There will be except in the case of a proven emergency or prior arrangements having been made with the instructor due to an unavoidable conflict (i.e. school function, doctor's appointment, etc.) The student MUST make IMMEDIATE arrangements with the instructor to do any allowed make-up work. The student is expected to pass each class exam and must pass a comprehensive final examination in order to pass the course.
STUDY AND PREPARATION
To increase your chances of
success in this course, DO THE ASSIGNED HOMEWORK
at the time it is assigned. ASK QUESTIONS
either in class or during office hours on problems that you find difficult,
interesting or challenging. Unless otherwise specified, homework
will not be collected. However, you are expected to DO
ALL OF THE ASSIGNMENTS. A notebook of all assigned problems
may be required. If so, this work will be checked at midterm and
at the end. To a greater extent, your conscientiousness in this matter
will determine your success in this course! More than likely, an
assignment will be given each class meeting day. Should you miss
an assignment, check the website at http://spectrum.troy.edu/~avant/Assignments.html
