Welcome to the Troy State University ASCPAs Executive MBA. During 2000, the Alabama Society of CPAs [ASCPAs] and the Troy State University Sorrell College of Business established a “partnership” whereby TSU is offering an Executive MBA Program for members of the ASCPAs. This Internet-based program is designed exclusively for CPAs. Students communicate directly with the faculty using Internet capabilities [i.e., No Videos!!!!] and the Program's flexibility has received "high praise" from the current ASCPAs Executive MBA class. Our Executive MBA Program is broader in scope than traditional Master of Accountancy Programs and is designed to help practitioners ensure long-term success in our profession. Practitioners may be aware that, in 1998, the Sorrell College of Business began offering an Internet-based Executive MBA Program for HEALTHSOUTH; then, in 1999, the United States Navy began a similar program with the College of Business. Now, members of the ASCPAs have the opportunity to earn an Executive MBA tailored especially for practitioners. Key features associated with this program are: Ten graduate courses [30 semester hours], delivered one course per term to accommodate the needs of professionals. Two-year completion schedule. Limited residential session requirements. Delivery of graduate-level courses/instruction via the Internet. Courses qualify for CPE credit [1 semester hour equals 15 CPE hours]. Reduced course fee for members of the ASCPAs. Note 1: No courses will be offered during the "traditional busy season" for practitioners. Note 2: Up to twelve [12] semester hours of current [and equivalent] course credit may be transferred into the program.
