This position is now closed.  Ridgeview will be hiring one new classics teacher for its large Latin program, one of the largest in Colorado.  Latin is a required subject 6-8, and high school students must take at least one semester of Latin beyond this requirement.  Many of the students take four additional years of Latin in the high school, and AP Latin is regularly offered.  The candidate should have a strong background in the Latin language.  Preferably the candidate will have majored in either classics or classical history with substantial coursework in Latin.  The ability to teach other subjects related to the classics would be an added advantage, e.g., classical literature, history, Greek, logic, or another foreign language.  Teaching certification is not required.  Experience teaching or working with young people would be an advantage but is not required.  Ridgeview is interested in exploring the possibility of teaching more spoken Latin than we have in the past.  Interested candidates should follow the procedures detailed on the school’s website.  Questions should be directed to the principal, Dr. T.
