This position is now closed.  Part-time Latin or Latin/Spanish.   The Lovett School, an independent k-12 day school in Atlanta, GA, seeks a part-time Latin classroom teacher to teach a section of Latin II (freshmen) and a section of Latin III (sophomores).  Alternatively, we are open to a full-time teacher who could teach 2 sections of Latin and 3 sections of Spanish.  Interested candidates should have college coursework in Latin and the desire to guide students with a range of abilities.  Familiarity with the Ecce Romani textbook series is helpful, but prior teaching experience is not required.  Salary will be competitive based on experience and qualifications.  Interested candidates may send the Lovett application, resume and cover letter to: William S. This position is now closed.  Latin for grade 9.  This is a new high school opening in the Archdiocese of Detroit.  Latin will be required of all students for grades 9 and 10.  The principal and the board feel this will be an excellent way of enhancing students' awareness of English structures, vocabulary, and skills of analyzing and thinking.  No text has been picked yet, pending discussion with the person hired.  More information about the Cristo Rey school network can be found by following links on the school website.

This position is now closed.  Loyola Academy seeks a full-time Latin teacher for a permanent position beginning with the 2008-2009 school year.  Exact courses are yet to be determined, but our department of 4 full-time teachers offers a full spectrum of courses (slow-learners, regular, honors, AP).  Basic texts are Ecce Romani for regular classes and Jenney for honors.

This position is now closed.  This is a full-time position teaching Latin levels 1-4 at a public high school in Wake County, NC. The current textbook series being used is Ecce Romani from Prentice Hall.  We also have various ancillary materials for the upper levels including Fabulae Graecae, Fabulae Romanae, and Selections from Vergil's Aeneid.  This is the first year that this position will be full-time, as we are a new high school and are building our program.  Our student population estimate for next year is close to 2,000 students.  We will have freshmen-seniors during 2008-2009.  We do not have any other Latin teachers, so this will be a singleton position.
