This position is now closed.  Latin/English, or Latin/World Cultures, or Latin/history.  Next year should be full-time Latin.  "Choice" school with the creme of the county; discipline is a non issue; these kids want to learn; they are enthusiastic and respectful.  This environment is like a private school except it is public.  A very collegial staff.  A very supportive administration.  Also, supportive parents.  Program is growing; this growth necessitates an additional teacher.  Existing teacher will work with new instructor on class assignments etc. and is older than dirt. This position is now closed.   (No longer Desperate (and still pregnant) Latin teacher in need of a second teacher!  Currently, the program at this large affluent public school in the Phoenix area serves 198 Latin students.  Ecce Romani is used in levels I and II while Vergil, Catullus, and Ovid are read in III and IV.  Both AP courses are offered as well as dual credit (master's degree needed to teach).  The Latin program is also very active in the state JCL as well as Nationals.  The Latin program also travels to Italy every other year.  Dynamic teachers, apply!
