I continue to develop the direction of mixed hypergraph coloring. My research activity includes organizing, coordinating, supervising, conducting, and consulting international collaborations.
Researchers from the following countries have participated in this work (alphabetical order): Canada, China, Czechia, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, and the USA.
The main subdirections of the research program correspond to the chapters of my monograph. Open problems are collected in the “Open problems” sections at the end of each chapter.
“The visitor appears to have an ambitious research program, with many connections to work on problems of fundamental interest in graph or hypergraph theory. It is a broad, mature program.”
“The PI can list many papers and problems resulting from the fundamental notion he introduced, ‘coloring mixed hypergraphs.’ This is enviable, and further progress if supported is certain. Indeed, there are many open problems in the field, and some of the top people have worked on them. His generalized setting is natural enough, his program is well-formulated and worthy of support.”
“It appears that the PI has worked well in the past with grad students while visiting Illinois and other schools. The proposal plans to involve undergraduates in the research are a plus.”
“Overall, the coPI (…) should be rated ‘Good’, while the PI (Voloshin) should be rated ‘Very Good’, the higher rating in acknowledgment of his great activity, drive, and innovation in developing this theory. I rate the proposal overall as ‘Good Plus’.”
