In addition to the testing options described at this site, online students may also take exams in the instructor's office from 9 AM to 3 PM by appointment. Email me to make an appointment.

Course Exams

There are four examinations (called Evaluation Quizzes) administered throughout the course. Each exam will be placed in the Gene Elrod Success Center (or mailed to student's test proctor) according to the testing policy guidelines stated above on Monday of Weeks 4, 5, 6, and 8 of the course (see course schedule).

All quizzes must be completed before the deadline listed on the final week of the course syllabus (see course schedule).  Students not completing all 4 quizzes by that time will receive a grade of Incomplete for the course. Students who have a legitimate reason for not completing all quizzes before the end of the course should contact the instructor as soon as possible.

Format of an Evaluation Quiz

In your Supplementary Book of Handouts, there is a sheet entitled "Typical Evaluation Quiz Format." It contains 5 questions that are virtually identical to the questions you will be asked on each evaluation quiz. The wording of some questions may change slightly from quiz to quiz to accommodate changes we discuss in the lessons. Throughout the course, you will practice evaluating research articles using this evaluation quiz format. So, you will have a good idea what will be on each evaluation quiz. The only thing that will be new will be the research article to be evaluated.
