Jonathan is an educator, pastor, researcher, and leadership developer whose passion is helping people flourish through meaningful relationships, intentional leadership, and holistic care. With more than two decades of experience spanning higher education and ministry, his work has consistently centered on developing people, strengthening organizations, and equipping leaders to make a lasting impact.
Jonathan serves as Congregational Care Pastor at Harvest Church in Dothan, Alabama, where he provides pastoral care, develops volunteer leaders, and oversees ministries that support individuals and families through every season of life. He is also an ordained minister in the Church of God of Prophecy and serves as an adjunct instructor, teaching courses in leadership and student success while mentoring the next generation of leaders.
He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Troy University before completing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. His doctoral research explored how at-risk students thrive when supported through relational trust, individualized guidance, and holistic care.
Those findings affirmed a conviction that continues to shape every area of his work: lasting transformation happens when people are genuinely known, intentionally developed, and faithfully supported.
Jonathan's leadership philosophy is built on relationships. He believes trust is the foundation of influence and that the most effective leaders invest deeply in people before expecting results. Whether teaching in the classroom, serving the local church, mentoring emerging leaders, or speaking at conferences, he is committed to equipping others with the character, confidence, and practical tools they need to lead faithfully and serve with purpose.
His current work focuses on the intersection of leadership, discipleship, higher education, and holistic care. Through teaching, research, writing, and speaking, Jonathan seeks to equip churches, students, and organizations to cultivate healthy leaders, strengthen relationships, and build cultures where people can thrive.
Jonathan and his wife, Wendy, met as students at Troy University and continue to cheer on the Trojans. Wendy serves at Troy University in Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness and also teaches as an adjunct instructor. Together they have three children—Emma Grace, Joseph, and Lucy.

Building trust, strengthening relationships, and equipping people to lead others with purpose.
Leadership begins with relationships. I believe the greatest influence is built on trust, authenticity, and genuine care for others. Whether serving in higher education, the local church, or the community, I seek to lead by listening well, investing deeply, and creating environments where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow. Lasting leadership isn't about position—it is about the relationships that inspire others to flourish.
Every person has God-given potential waiting to be developed. My passion is walking alongside students, pastors, volunteers, and emerging leaders as they discover their calling and grow in character, faith, and confidence. Through teaching, mentoring, and discipleship, I strive to equip others not simply to follow, but to become leaders who invest in people and make disciples who multiply.
Purpose gives direction to every relationship and every opportunity to lead. My work is guided by a desire to glorify God by helping people flourish and organizations fulfill their mission. Whether teaching in the classroom, serving the local church, conducting research, or developing leaders, I seek to steward every opportunity with intentionality, excellence, and a commitment to making a lasting Kingdom impact.
