Currently, we are focused on a specific transcription factor that is present both in embryogenesis and cancer progression. We have used human prostate cancer tissue and cells to explore the metastatic progression of prostate cancer, which if able to metastasize to the bone ensures death for patient. We aim to investigate the role of FOXI3. This transcription factor could be used as a diagnostic marker for prostate cancer.

We are also investigating a short hairpin RNA which offers the possibility of prolonged gene silencing. We will attempt to target the transcription factor FOXI3, which could possibly subdue tumorigenesis.
