Fireworks is an image editing program with sophisticated features. That's the good news. The bad news is that it can take a long time to learn ALL of the different effects you can produce in Fireworks.
The approach we have taken with Fireworks is to try to introduce you to some of the more "popular" features and focus on them. As your needs and interests arise, you will probably want to delve deeper into depths of the program.
