During the college years, nonconsensual sexual contact occurs all too frequently. Sexual assault can happen to both males and females. However, over 90% of people who are sexually assaulted are female. Statistics suggest that 1 in 8 college women have been sexually assaulted. However, many women do not report sexual assault to campus police or school administrators. Therefore, it is difficult to determine with certainty the actual incidence of sexual assault on campuses. In fact, many women never tell anyone about the assault, and are left to cope with the emotional consequences alone. Unfortunately, avoiding seeking help from others limits recovery and healing from the trauma of a sexual assault.

The Sexual Assault and Violence Education Project is a program designed to promote change and raise awareness concerning sexual violence within the campus community. SAVE helps students with their physical, emotional, and personal concerns they may be faced with when dealing with surviving an assault. SAVE is dedicated to the prevention of sexual assault and harassment and to the growth of healthy male-female relationships on campus. We also provide services to students who may need some help with making it through school and life in general.
